It's now officially gotten to cooler temps where it is about 40*F or below every night now and my car hasn't taken to it very well.
My car is garage kept and had been fine until a recent trip to a gas station when, while sitting in line (braked while in Drive), the car began to start knocking. At first it was determined with my nice Oppo friends that it was probably just some less than Premium fuel causing some engine knock. After a premium refill, everything seemed fine, until recently when temps dropped. Now the car is willing to make this noise when car is warm, on the brake and in D, 3, 2, or 1 but not P, R, or Neutral.
If I let off the brake or I'm actually driving, the noises don't appear. They only appear when on the brake and in D, 3, 2, or 1. I'm going to test a 2nd gear start and see if it appears to be that 1st is going out or what...Either way, not good right now.
So, for your future advice, I give you one of my fave comics, The Loading Artist:

if they have hydraulic motor mounts (not sure on GM's) I would check those. Fluid gets cold and stiff, and if it is worn it will make a slight knock in D with the drivetrain braked, and it could have worn to the point where it does it all the time now. Take a video, maybe we can suss it better. All kinds of knocks out there...

I'll see if I can record later, off to work now.
